Here at Baron Grey Solicitors, we have over 20 years’ experience of working within the Criminal Justice System. We can guide you every step of the way, offering you the best possible advice and representation, whatever the offence you are being prosecuted for. Here are some examples of the work we undertake.
Frequently these offences are dealt with by specialist prosecutors from the Crown Prosecution Service, the Serious Fraud Office and HM Revenue and Customs. They can cover a large range of offences such as bribery, tax fraud and fraudulent evasion of duty. We have the experience and technical know-how to deal with these types of cases which can be large-scale, technical and complex.
Road Traffic Offences
We understand that for many people retaining their driving licence can mean the difference between retaining their employment and losing their livelihood. We deal with all types of motoring offences, from speeding and drink/drug driving through to arguing special reasons and exceptional hardship before the courts.
We also represent people accused of the most serious of road traffic offences such as causing death by dangerous driving.
Murder and Manslaughter
Our lawyers have had notable success in representing people accused of these most serious of offences, and we instruct the best Queen’s Counsel and experts to represent our clients in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal.
We frequently represent people accused of all levels of assault, from common assault through to ABH and GBH.
We defend clients across the whole spectrum of theft offences, from basic shoplifting and car crime through to burglary and robbery.
We often deal with large-scale conspiracy to supply cases before the Crown Courts which often involve lengthy undercover police operations and large amounts of evidence, but we are equally at home representing people in the magistrates’ courts charged with simple possession. We are now seeing more cases of people being charged with dealing in “legal highs” such as nitrous oxide, and have had real success in defending people charged with these offences.
There has been a dramatic rise in the number of people being accused of historic sexual offences and possession of indecent images offences which can have a dramatic impact upon a person’s life. We specialise in defending across the whole range of sexual offences, from sexual assault through to rape. We also deal with people wishing to apply to remove themselves from the Sex Offenders’ Register.
We understand the distress that having a family pet seized by the police can have. We have extensive experience in representing people accused of offences such as possession of a pit-bull type dog and offences under the Animal Welfare Act.
Sometimes people are unhappy with their previous representation or wish simply for a second opinion on a case where the result hasn’t gone as hoped. We are happy to give such advice, and we have had success in the appellate courts in having convictions overturned and sentences reduced.
We are happy to take on instructions under either a fixed-fee or hourly-rate.
